Chicago Portage Fest Poster

Design Direction was hired to create a poster for the Chicago Portage Festival, an event created to increase public awareness of this National Historic Site. The development of Chicago as a city owes its existence to the location of the Portage as it became the transportation connection between the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. The poster describes the passage of time (hourglass) and the significance of this narrow corridor as it opened the doors to Chicago’s future.
