This site was developed for National Geographic photographer Aaron Huey. It’s purpose was to provide a mechanism that would facilitate and amplify the voices of Native American artists who were creating work for social change. The site highlighted Native American artists and their portfolios, along with the large-scale public works that they created with Honor the Treaties funding support. The site successfully attracted a large following and the financial support of a number of well-known musicians and celebrities including John Densmore, drummer of The Doors, and Peter Yarow of Peter, Paul and Mary. As shown in the slider (click the arrows to advance the slides) for this project, we created full-screen images for each page section on the website that transformed the photographs of Aaron Huey into illustrations created by a collaboration with illustrator Shepard Fairey.
